Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These Terms explain the rules for using skilldeo — what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you — written as plainly as we can.
Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the skilldeo platform, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by skilldeo (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service — whether as a recruiter, a candidate completing a video interview, or a website visitor — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Definitions
- Recruiter — an individual or organisation that uses skilldeo to screen, interview, or evaluate candidates.
- Candidate — an individual invited to complete a video interview through the Service.
- Skillpack — a curated set of interview questions and scoring criteria selected by a Recruiter.
- Content — any data, video, audio, transcripts, scores, or materials submitted to or generated by the Service.
Accounts & Eligibility
The Service is intended for professional use by adults (18 years or older). By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
- Access is protected by OTP-based authentication — you must not share access codes or allow unauthorised persons to use your account.
- You must notify us promptly at social@skilldeo.ai if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
Use of the Platform
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Service only for lawful hiring and recruitment purposes.
You may not:
- Use the Service to discriminate against candidates in violation of applicable employment laws.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying models of the Service.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or networks.
- Use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, or malicious content.
Recruiter Responsibilities
Recruiters using the Service agree that they are responsible for:
- Obtaining any consent required from candidates before inviting them to a recorded, AI-scored, and proctored interview.
- Making final hiring decisions using human judgement — AI scores and proctoring flags are decision-support signals, not automated decisions.
- Complying with all applicable employment, privacy, and data-protection laws in their jurisdiction.
- Configuring data retention settings and handling candidate data requests appropriately.
Candidate Terms
If you are a candidate completing an interview, you acknowledge that your video and audio responses are recorded, transcribed, scored by AI, and reviewed by the recruiting organisation that invited you.
You agree to complete the interview honestly and without impersonation or unauthorised assistance. Requests to access or delete your data should be directed to the recruiting organisation in the first instance; we can assist directly if the recruiter cannot be reached.
AI Scoring & Proctoring
The Service uses AI to evaluate candidate responses and to monitor interview integrity through proctoring signals such as eye contact, tab switches, additional-person detection, voice authenticity, screen presence, and pause patterns.
These scores and flags are indicators to assist human reviewers. They are provided “as is” and may contain inaccuracies. We do not guarantee that AI scoring or proctoring will be error-free, and they must not be used as the sole basis for any hiring decision.
Fees & Payment
Certain features of the Service are offered on a paid basis. Fees, bundles, and any applicable referral charges are described on our pricing page and in your order.
- Fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed and are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party payment provider — we do not store your card details.
- We may update pricing from time to time; changes will not affect an order already paid for.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, models, design, and content we provide, is owned by skilldeo and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
You retain ownership of the Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant us a limited licence to host, process, and use it solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as cloud hosting, payment processing, and email delivery). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, skilldeo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold skilldeo harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your Content, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm to us, other users, or candidates. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where required, notify active users. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at skilldeo's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
