These terms govern your use of the skilldeo platform. They cover what you can expect from us and what we expect from you — written clearly and without unnecessary legalese.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the skilldeo platform, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
skilldeo provides an AI-powered video interview and candidate screening platform. The Service enables:
- Recruiters and hiring teams to create AI-driven interview assessments for job candidates
- Candidates to complete asynchronous video interviews via a web browser
- AI-powered scoring, ranking, and proctoring of candidate responses
- Dashboard analytics and reporting for hiring teams
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
Accounts & Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Keep your account credentials confidential and secure
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful hiring and recruitment purposes. You may not:
- Use the platform for any purpose unrelated to legitimate hiring or talent evaluation
- Submit false, misleading, or discriminatory job postings or interview questions
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models or algorithms
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Service
- Share candidate data outside your organisation without proper authorisation
- Circumvent or attempt to bypass proctoring or security features
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
Candidate Obligations
Candidates using the Service to complete video interviews agree to:
- Complete interviews honestly and without external assistance unless explicitly permitted
- Not use AI-generated voices, deepfakes, or synthetic media to impersonate themselves
- Not record, screenshot, or redistribute interview questions or platform content
- Accept that their video responses will be recorded, scored by AI, and reviewed by the recruiting organisation
Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, AI models, user interfaces, designs, text, graphics, and branding, is owned by skilldeo and protected by intellectual property laws.
- Our IP — You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission
- Your content — You retain ownership of data you upload to the platform (job postings, interview questions, company information). You grant us a limited licence to process this content solely to provide the Service
- Candidate recordings — Video and audio recordings belong to the recruiting organisation that initiated the interview, subject to applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy
Payment & Billing
Certain features of the Service require payment. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:
- Pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase
- Provide accurate billing information
- Accept that fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing. Free trial periods, if offered, may be limited in scope or duration.
AI Scoring & Limitations
skilldeo uses AI to evaluate candidate responses and generate scores. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI scores are advisory tools — they do not constitute final hiring decisions
- Recruiters are responsible for reviewing AI-generated scores, proctoring flags, and candidate videos before making hiring decisions
- AI systems may produce inaccurate or inconsistent results in some cases
- skilldeo does not guarantee specific hiring outcomes based on AI scores
- You will not use AI scores as the sole basis for rejecting a candidate without human review
We continuously work to improve AI accuracy and reduce bias, but no AI system is perfect. It is your responsibility to use AI outputs as one input in a broader, human-led hiring process.
Data Protection
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
As a recruiter, you are a data controller for candidate data processed through the platform. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of skilldeo complies with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, IT Act, and other local regulations) and that candidates are informed about how their data will be used.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless skilldeo, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
Termination
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time:
- By you — You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time
- By us — We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any reason with reasonable notice
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Data retention after termination is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify active users by email where required.
Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the Service.
